Who says you can’t have it all…?

The first question which we ask anyone interested in our guitars is:
“What are you looking for?”

If you are looking for the ideal price-design-performance ratio, (something like a Mercedes among cars), we give you an advice - buy a top-of-the line, factory-made guitar.

However, if you really want to satisfy your uncompromising desires and fulfil your lifelong dreams – well, you’ve come to the right place. You can create the ultimate, no compromise guitar, custom made for your fingertips - your own Rolls-Royce or Ferrari, if you will.

Select and compare body shapes

You can choose any standard and usual body for your guitar. We are also able to create a nonstandard body shape upon request.

Just compare the two shapes below:

OM

OM

OM

Body length 48,3 cm 19“
Body width 38,1 cm 15“
Body depth 8,5 – 10,5 cm 33/8“ – 41/8“
Scale 644 mm 2511/32“
For many years, the favourite mid-sized guitar shape created by C.F. Martin & Co., which became synonymous for a well-balanced sound. Sounds great being strummed or played by fingers.

Body length 50,8 cm 20“
Body width 40 cm 153/4“
Body depth 10 – 12,5 cm 315/16“ – 415/16“
Scale 644 mm 2511/32“
One of the most popular guitar shapes. At ROZAWOOD, we couldn’t even imagine not having it in our production line-up. This particular instrument is the best choice for all the players who prefer a strong "booming" sound, either for lead or rhythm playing. As there is a myriad of producers of good, standard Dreadnoughts, we tried sprinkle our models with some magic sauce - adding brightness to the sound in the process. Any player looking for enhanced brilliance and clarity, especially for lead work, will benefit from this. We’ve also redesigned the bracing to a unique combination of scalloped and tapered bracing system. All in all, we’ve created a monster of a guitar with a thunderous bass response, clear midrange and shimmering treble.

Body width 41 cm 161/8“
Body depth 10 – 12,5 cm 315/16“ – 415/16“
Scale 644 mm 2511/32“
A guitar which is called also a Jumbo due to its big body. But our Grand Auditorium is shaped so nicely, that the body doesn’t look as big as it really is. This body has an unbelievably great and perfectly balanced sound.

Body length 48,5 cm 191/8“
Body width 34,3 cm 131/2“
Body depth 9 – 11,5 cm 39/16“ – 417/32“
Scale 631 mm 2427/32“
Our smallest guitar we have in our production line. With its small body and shorter scale this instrument is suitable for those players they are of a smaller growth - women or children. Even though our Lady is a small guitar, she has surprisingly powerful sound with a very warm and sweet tone. It is a result of very carefully modified scalloped X bracings used for the soundboard. That's why this instrument can be used also for professional performance and is also a good choice for songwriters or music composers to be their small friend that helps with their job.

Body width 35,9 cm 141/8“
Body depth 8,5 – 10,5 cm 33/8“ – 41/8“
Scale 631 mm 2427/32“
This 12-fret body shape is a typical representative of popular smaller-body guitars. With its typical dimensions used also by other builders, but upgraded by our double-X bracing specially adapted for this small body, this guitar produces full, rich and perfectly balanced sound.

Body depth 9 – 11,5 cm 39/16“ – 417/32“
Scale 644 mm 2511/32“
We changed the shape of this popular body to satisfy still rising popularity of slope-shoulder guitars. While our BLUES body is visually closer to Martin's 000 14-fret (i.e. OM) body shape, our 000 14-fret body is slightly longer, has the same width at lower bout, but not so tightened centre and narrower upper bout. This body shape suits perfectly especially for fingerpicking.

Body width 39 cm 153/8“
Body depth 9 – 11,5 cm 39/16“ – 417/32“
Scale 644 mm 2511/32“
The best choice for all players, which prefer well balanced tone with clear trebles and soft bass response. This body shape is similar to standard OM size, but has slightly bigger lower part and deeper body that gives to this guitar stronger sound and more concrete tone. Simply, our standard OM body shape upgrade.

Body width 41 cm 161/8“
Body depth 9,5 – 12 cm 33/4“ – 415/16“
Scale 724 mm 281/2“
To create a purely acoustic baritone with natural sound, great projection and playability - it was a really great challenge for us. But since we introduced her for the first time, she started to be one of our bestsellers. Our baritone has a typical longer neck and two next important differences from other flattops. First, we used our Convex Sound Hole Rim, and secondly, we changed our double-X top bracing especially for this instrument. Both for the best low tones.

Body length 50,8 cm 20“
Body width 41,5 cm 1611/32“
Body depth 10 – 12,5 cm 315/16“ – 415/16“
Scale 644 – 666 mm 2511/32“ – 261/8“
Our drop guitar body was developed, both the shape and the bracing, for those guitar players, who are interested in drop tuning (e.g. Drop-C – C, G, C, F, A, D) or playing various styles of open tunings (e.g. Open-D – D, D, A, F#, A, D). The body is bigger than the dreadnought, has a multiscale, our unique double X-bracing and our Convex Sound Hole Rim. The dimensions of the top bracing are very close to those we use for our baritone guitar. The result is a full, robust and deep sound that could be used in many styles. So, it is a perfect choice for multi-purpose guitar players.

Something special

Additional Sound Hole
Something special

Additional Sound Hole

Making another hole in the sides results in losing the acoustic pressure inside the body with a fatal impact to the front sound projection usually.

Roman’s construction, using the curved convex rosette and the inside wooden “speaking-tube”, ensures that the front projection will be the same and part of the sound will be led from the side to the player’s ears.

We call these double-soundhole guitars with this unique system, MASTERVOICE.

Faceted Top
Something special

Faceted Top

Our BELLISIMO guitars have a “one kind of wood” look of all the body. It is allowed by Roman’s original top construction.

The “usual” Spruce top is overlaid by a very thin plate of solid wood of the same kind as back and sides. But it has nothing common with plywood, because the top plate of wood is quarter sawn solid wood glued on the Spruce top and then sanded up to ca 0,5 mm thickness. These only two wood plates (Spruce and cover wood) are glued together with high quality hide glue and with the same grain’s direction. So, the wood is working the same way as solid wood while the plywood veneers are glued with crossed grain directions.

This results in a very unique sound. The guitar still sounds as a Spruce top guitar but sometimes with more sustain, sometimes with more treble or bass response – depending on the kind of cover wood that is used.

Convex Sound Hole Rim
Something special

Convex Sound Hole Rim

We started to use this special rosette shape as an integral construction part on our double-soundhole guitars and later on our baritone and drop guitars.

Roman adapted this special construction design for usage on all flattops. This rosette is made from a block of solid wood to the special shape to minimise feedback and to improve bass response.

We offer Convex Sound Hole Rim as an option for all our flattop guitars and other flattop instruments.

Beveled Armrest
Something special

Beveled Armrest

The BEVELED ARMREST, usually called BEVEL only, was invented by Canadian luthier William Laskin in 1989 and became a standard custom option on high-end guitars during last years.

Our BEVEL construction is based on Kevin Ryan’s BEVEL shape and its minimalistic solution combines player’s comfort (the reason why is made) with the highest sound quality. The BEVEL anyway detract a part of the top board and it has negative impact to a top board oscillation, which has the most important contribution to the whole instrument sound quality. Our BEVEL design maximizes a top board area remaining after the BEVEL is cut off and such keeps guitar tonal characteristic on the highest level.

Fan Fret
Something special

Fan Fret

Fan fret fingerboard enables strengthening the tone of the lower strings by giving them a longer speaking string length.

It’s the reason why we use it on our RHAPSODY model with the DROP body shape standardly. It allows to tune the guitar to many alternative open or drop tunings as well as to keep the standard tuning with one string gauge.

So, if you want to use all these advantages on your guitar, FAN FRET is the right choice for you.

True Temperament
Something special

True Temperament

The TRUE TEMPERAMENT™ Fretting System is a revolutionary new way to construct guitar fingerboards which tune accurately along the whole neck.

This fretting system, patented by Swedish company True Temperament AB, will give you super-accurate intonation over the whole fingerboard in the temperament it is constructed for.

Other Instruments

Flattop guitars are the core of our work, but besides them we offer other custom-built instruments too. Most wanted are RESONATORS, both Squareneck (called Dobro usually) and Roundneck, SPECIALITY GUITARS (e.g. Baritone, Tenor, Terz, Drop, 7-string, Hawaiian Steel, Guitar Bouzouki, Ukulele, …), ARCHTOPS or OCTAVE MANDOLINS & MANDOCELLOS.

Just check some examples of our up to now made or stock pieces.
